ISY: Configuring KeypadLinc with FanLinc

Last Updated: Jul 28, 2016 01:29PM PDT
Programming and configuring your FanLinc and Keypad can be a hassle manually when it comes to properly setting everything up, however within the ISY the process is made much simpler.
Step 1: Adding Devices - Starting out you will add the devices into your ISY. See below.
Step 2: KeyPad Configuration – Rename the keypad buttons by Right clicking and selectign to rename. The end result will look something along the following. For this Example we will be using a 6Button KeypadLinc with the following configuration:
A: Fan Speed High
B: Fan Speed Medium
C: Fan Speed Off
D: Fan Speed Low

Step 3: Button Grouping - Select the main Line Item for your Keypad (In this case FanLinc Keypad On Off)

In Button Groupings you will want to select everything associated with the Fan Speeds, as the example below. This process will insure that your Keypad buttons will turn off as each new button is pressed. For example, If your fan is on high, pressing the Medium Button will turn off the LED behind High.

Click OK to write the information to the switch, then select Yes

Step 4: Creating Scenes – Create the scenes for the Fan Speeds and Lighting.  In this case we will have to create 5 scenes total, 1 for each Fan speed, and the light. You can find instructions below for creating scenes.
For this example it will look similar to below.

Step 5: Adding Devices to Scenes - Select the devices and drag them into the scene icon you wish to add them to. In this example, we will be adding the FanLinc-Motor and FanLinc Keypad High to the Fan High scene. Select FanLinc Keypad High and set it as the controller, then select OK.

Step 6: Configuring the Scenes Go into each individual scene and set the control level for the keypad to the speed of the fan you want. In this example, for the Medium Speed, you sill select Med.

That’s all, you now have a properly configured FanLinc and KeyPadLinc.
